We are thrilled to announce a major and exciting evolution for our badminton community. After a period of dedicated effort and with the support of our passionate players, our club has been formally structured and is now officially the Timmins Badminton Club, an incorporated not-for-profit organization!

This is a huge milestone that moves us from an informal group to a stable, professional, and long-lasting community asset. This transition was undertaken to protect the future of the club, ensure its long-term stability, and create a fair and transparent environment for all.

What This Means for You: A Truly Member-Run Club

So, what does being a “member-run, not-for-profit club” actually mean? It means this is now your club in the truest sense.

  • You Have a Voice: As a voting member, you now have the power to elect your leaders at our Annual General Meeting, approve the club’s budget and fees, and even propose changes to our bylaws.
  • Full Transparency: All our governing documents—from our bylaws to our safety policies—are now publicly available on our website. You will always know how and why decisions are being made.
  • Reinvestment in the Club: As a not-for-profit, every dollar from your membership fees is reinvested directly back into the club to cover costs like insurance and equipment, and to improve the badminton experience for everyone.

It also means we have a shared responsibility. The success of our club relies on the active participation and volunteer spirit of our members, from helping with net setup to contributing to a positive, respectful atmosphere on the court.
