Dear Timmins Badminton Club Members,

It is almost that time of year again…

As summer begins to wind down, we must begin thinking, planning, and building towards the 2026/2027 badminton season.

Therefore, please accept this communication as the official notice and find the attached meeting package for our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held entirely online on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 7:00 PM EST. A meeting link will be provided as the AGM date approaches.

As a member-driven not-for-profit organization, the active participation from our membership is vital to the continuation of the club. More specifically, we require a minimum 20% quorum of voting adult members to legally conduct the AGM and move forward with club business and to enable club play. Please take a moment to complete the attendance poll (link below) to help us track our quorum target.

Please note, if quorum is not reached, the Executive Committee will be required to reschedule the AGM and badminton will not be able to commence until completed.

This year, the Timmins Badminton Club will be transitioning through important updates within the Executive Committee. The Secretary, Jeremy Elomaa, has announced his intent to resign following the AGM. To ensure organizational continuity, we must fill the Secretary, Vice President, and newly proposed Director of Events and Activity roles. The success of the club and the internal tournaments demonstrate the incredible potential within the badminton community. Therefore, we urgently need members to volunteer and step forward into these leadership responsibilities to help the club progress towards achieving its strategic goals and support the sport of badminton in Timmins.

Please note, club governance strictly forbids self-nominations directly from the floor. Review the attached nomination materials for details on how to submit your name, or nominate a peer, prior to the meeting.

Finally, to actively participate in the AGM, please ensure to complete the following actions:

  • Review the attached TBC Founding Minutes and 2026 AGM Agenda.
  • Complete the embedded Attendance Poll by end-of-day, Sunday, September 27, 2026, to confirm your virtual presence.
  • Submit any bylaw amendments or director nominations by email to timminsbaddy@gmail.com

Thank you for your dedication to keeping our badminton community thriving.

Sincerely,

The Timmins Badminton Club Executive Committee:
Andy Yu – President, Denis Charette – Treasurer, Jeremy Elomaa – Secretary
